To achieve the best results, it is essential to properly prepare the surface using the required preparation products as listed in the Use & Care Manual. The 100% advanced acrylic formula penetrates wood and cleans up with soap and water. The silicone-based technology enhances waterproof protection and durability, resulting in a mildew-resistant finish with enhanced UV protection to resist fading.

It is crucial to apply the product between 35-90°F, and the temperature must stay above 35°F for the next 12 hours. The BEHR Premium Waterproofing Wood Finish can be applied using a brush, pad applicator, or spray application. The coverage area for the first coat is 1,500-1,750 sq. ft., and the second coat covers 3,000-3,500 sq. ft. It is important to avoid applying the finish too heavily, as two thin coats are required.

The dry time for the product is 1 - 2 hours before recoating, and it takes 72 hours for the full cure. In cooler temperatures and higher humidity, additional dry time may be needed. The finish will resist rain after 4 hours.
