MasonryDefender Penetrating Chimney Brick Sealer is a commercial-grade, siloxane water repellent that forms a lasting bond with the minerals in all porous, exterior masonry surfaces, providing long-lasting water repellency. This breathable, non-film forming brick sealer will not alter the surface color or appearance. It is designed to protect a variety of horizontal, exterior, above-grade masonry surfaces, including residential chimneys, brick walls, masonry structures, stone, brick, stucco, granite, limestone, and cultured stone. The natural substrate color and surface textures remain unaffected, with little or no gloss created. Slight darkening may occur on dense surfaces, so testing is recommended before treating any surface to ensure the desired results.

This product is intended to be used after the surface has been properly cleaned with MasonryDefender All Purpose Masonry & Concrete Cleaner. It provides long-lasting protection for chimneys by penetrating the surface and forming a permanent bond with the masonry. This allows trapped moisture to evaporate, preventing freeze/thaw damage and water leaks that can occur through cracks in the chimney and find their way into the interior of the home.

MasonryDefender Chimney Brick Sealer is easy to apply, requiring the application of two coats using a pump-up sprayer. Drop cloths should be used around the base to prevent overspray. The product is a VOC-compliant, water-based sealer that is environmentally friendly and easy to clean up.

Coverage rates for this product are approximately 80-150 square feet per gallon container, assuming two coats. It dries to the touch in 2-6 hours, depending on temperature and humidity, and becomes waterproof after 4-6 hours of exposure to UV light and atmospheric moisture. The sealer continues to increase in strength for several weeks after the initial application.
